African Mortgage Partners

The mortgage gap in African housing isn't a demand problem. It's an infrastructure problem.

AMP brings together the liquidity, underwriting infrastructure and assured off-take that African banks need to write mortgages at scale — and that developers need to sell homes with confidence.

The bottleneck

Three things stand between an African bank and a mortgage book

The demand for home finance across African markets is real and growing. What's missing, almost everywhere, is the plumbing behind it.

01 — Funding

The tenor mismatch

Banks hold short-tenor, local-currency deposits. Mortgages need 15–20 year money. Very few African balance sheets are built to carry that gap.

02 — Infrastructure

The missing back office

Origination, underwriting and servicing a mortgage book is a specialist discipline. Most banks have never had a reason to build it in-house.

03 — Exit

No route off the balance sheet

Without a buyer for seasoned loans, mortgages sit where they were written. That caps how many a bank can ever write — and how many homes get sold.

How AMP helps

One partner, three pieces of the puzzle

AMP was built by mortgage bankers, not around a single product. Each piece can stand on its own — together, they let a bank go from no mortgage business to a functioning one.

Facility01

Liquidity

with Frontclear

Structured funding lines, arranged with our partner Frontclear, that let a bank originate mortgages without tying up the long-term capital it doesn't have.

Facility02

Underwriting & servicing

with Prodigy Finance

Global-standard underwriting, collections and loan administration, brought in through our partner Prodigy Finance — so quality doesn't rest on one back office.

Facility03

Assured off-take

AMP

AMP purchases qualifying, seasoned mortgages under agreed true-sale terms — giving banks a route to recycle capital, and developers certainty that financed buyers can close.

Proof, not theory

We've built this before

AMP's partners didn't arrive at African mortgage finance as advisors. They built and ran the institutions.

Zambia Zambian Home Loans

Founded by Michael Waller, Zambian Home Loans built a dedicated mortgage lending business in a market that had none — from origination through to funding structure.

Ghana Ghana Home Loans → FNB Ghana

Founded and led by Dominic Adu, Ghana Home Loans grew into Ghana's leading dedicated mortgage lender, was acquired by First National Bank Ghana, and Adu went on to serve as its CEO.

Ghana & Nigeria Seso Global

Led by Daniel Bloch and Kweku Essien, Seso has built the developer and diaspora-buyer distribution rails, with e-mortgage partnerships already running alongside banks in West Africa.

Alongside us

Two partners who make the model work

AMP doesn't try to be the liquidity provider and the underwriter and the buyer alone. We work with specialists on either side of us.

Frontclear

A Netherlands-based development finance company that provides structured funding to banks across frontier and emerging markets — the liquidity layer behind AMP's bank partnerships.

Underwriting & collections partner

Prodigy Finance

Global underwriting and loan servicing infrastructure, giving AMP's bank partners institutional-grade origination and collections without having to build it themselves.

For Developers

Sell to buyers who can actually get financed

A slow or uncertain mortgage process is one of the biggest reasons a sale falls through. We work with your sales pipeline to connect qualified buyers to participating banks.
